The Electrical Life of Louis Wain is the extraordinary true story of eccentric British artist Louis Wain, who is enchantingly portrayed by BAFTA-winner Benedict Cumberbatch.

Louis Wain’s playful, endearing and sometimes even psychedelic pictures of cats helped to transform the public’s perception of felines forever.

Moving from the late 1800s to the 1930s, this delightful film, narrated by Olivia Colman, follows the adventures of this inspiring, unsung hero, as he seeks to unlock the ‘electrical’ mysteries of the world and, in so doing, better understand his own life and the profound love he shared with her wife Emily Richardson (a captivating turn from Emmy Winner Claire Foy).

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain features a stellar cast including Andrea RiseboroughHayley SquiresSharon Rooney, Aimee Lou Wood and Stacy Martin as Louis’ sisters, as well as a host of impressive supporting stars from Toby JonesAdeel AkhtarAsim Chaudhry and Taika Waititi to Richard Ayoade, Jamie DemetriouJulian BarrattSiobhan McSweeney and Nick Cave.
