Renee Zellweger dazzles as the beloved actress and singer Judy Garland in this biopic from acclaimed theatre and film director Rupert Goold, adapted from the Made in Northampton production End of the Rainbow. 30 years after The Wizard of Oz, Garland arrives in London to performn sold-out shows, whilst reminiscing with friends and beginning a whirlwind romance. The film also stars Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose, Chernobyl), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter), and Rufus Sewell (The Man in the High Castle).

Rupert Goold has a legendary presence here at the Royal & Derngate, as he used to be an Artistic Director, and he has made a phenomenal transition into film with this beautiful and moving biopic.

The screening on Tue 8 October at 2.30pm is a Dementia-Friendly screening. These screenings are open to all and offer people living with dementia including young onset dementia, the chance to enjoy a classic film in a relaxed and supportive environment. All are welcome at these screenings.

The screening on Wed 9 October at 11.15am is a Relaxed screening. These are subtly adapted to create a welcoming environment for people with a range of conditions in the neuro-diverse community. All are welcome at these screenings.

 

The screening on Wed 9 October at 2.30pm is Silver Screen – our weekly matinees aimed at ages 60 and over with tickets at £7. Under-60s are welcome at these screenings, standard ticket prices apply.
The screening on Tue 15 October at 6.10pm has descriptive English language subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. All are welcome at these screenings.
