Judas and the Black Messiah

Director: Shaka King
Starring: LaKeith Stanfield, Daniel Kaluuya, Jesse Plemons, Dominique Fishback

Based on the true story of Fred Hampton, the powerful and stirring Judas and the Black Messiah features rousing performances by Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), LaKeith Stanfield (Knives Out), Jesse Plemons (The Irishman) and rising star Dominique Fishback.

As Chairman of the Illinois Black Panthers, the young and charismatic Fred Hampton (Kaluuya) leads the fight for freedom. Standing side-by-side with the members of his chapter, they campaign for the Black community’s right to determine their own destiny and to put an end to police brutality.

But in 1968, Fred Hampton’s ability to inspire a generation to rise up puts him directly in the line of fire of the US government, the FBI and the Chicago Police. Looking for someone on the inside, the FBI coerce petty criminal William O’Neal (Stanfield) to infiltrate the Panthers and provide crucial intel.

Now a comrade in arms to Fred Hampton, O’Neal lives in fear that his treachery will be discovered even as he rises in the ranks of the Black Panthers. But as Hampton’s fiery message draws him in, O’Neal cannot escape the deadly trajectory of his ultimate betrayal.
