Once a year Durham is overtaken by miners, trade-unions and the public for a major celebration, The Durham Miners’ Gala, known asĀ The Big Meeting. This annual gathering of noise, colour and solidarity attracts 200,000 people, as they parade through the streets with banners and brass bands in honour of their heritage. The documentary reflects the past, present and future of the Gala and labour movement, whilst following participants during this impressive occasion.
