Father, grandfather, policeman, widower, man. In a remote Icelandic town, Ingimundur (Ingvar Sigurðsson), an off-duty police chief, begins to suspect a local man of having had an affair with his late wife, who died in a car accident two years ago. Gradually his obsession for finding out the truth is pushed to the limits and his erratic actions inevitably begins to endanger himself and his loved ones, including his beloved granddaughter (Ída Mekkín Hlynsdóttir).

Writer/director Hlynur Pálmason‘s confirms the promise of his award-winning debut Winter Brothers with the compelling and darkly humorous A White, White Day – a story of grief, revenge and unconditional love. Anchored by Sigurdsson’s towering lead performance as the stoic grandfather and breathtaking cinematography by Maria von Hausswolff, Pálmason’s gripping and powerful tale is an unforgettable experience, and not to be missed.
