Screening as part of HeadFest 22, we are delighted to present Tom Ford‘s achingly beautiful debut, A Single Man, followed by a talk with Lisa Pearson, Suicide Prevention Lead at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, and Andy Willis, Lived Experience Lead for Outcomes-Based Pathways Pillar.

George (Colin Firth, in a Best Actor Oscar-nominated performance) is an English college professor living in Los Angeles who recently lost his partner of 16 years, Jim (Matthew Goode), in a car accident.

Grief-stricken, he plans to take his own life.

As he goes about his daily routine and puts his affairs in order, his encounters with colleagues, students (Nicholas Hoult) and an old friend (Julianne Moore) lead him to make a final decision as to whether life is worth living without Jim.

Please note, this film features themes of suicide throughout.
